Open Question: How can I charge my iPhone 3G and/or Macbook Air (Canada), in Poland? Are there any ways I can do so? HELP!!?

I am traveling to Poland and Germany in early August. I have an Apple iPhone 3G and a Macbook Air that i would want to bring along with me to use. The only thing holding me back is how would i charge these devices since the American power outlet is in a different setup than that of European power outlets. Also, the charges in these two countries are much different. (The European power outlet has more voltage than American .. much stronger current) I have read that if you do not take careful precautions that your laptop may over heat due to too much voltage striking your laptop and may not function after wards. Is there any way (not costly) to be able to charge these items?

Note: the iPhone can be charged through my Macbook Air via USB cable, or through a USB plug in to plug into an American power outlet specialized for the iPhone usage.

Also, would you know is a rental car in Germany (which i am renting to drive), would i be able to use a car power adapter from Canada and use it in the car from Germany, or are they both different?
