Apple MacBook Air

I have an old powerbook G4, optical drive is damaged, which means it doesnt read dvd anymore, so i cant re-install the os. is there a way how i can wirelessly I can remote my imac’s optical drive? like how macbook air does? is there a way i can use my imac optical drive somehow connect to my powerbook g4? please help me, i dont want to spend another 100 buck on replace an optical drive, its too much. thank you.
will firewire work?
