Apple MacBook Air

hey, so my birthdays coming up soon. first id like to ask…. i really have no idea what to get.. im a male and looking for somthing that id actually use, not just throw away a week from then. i was thinkin about getting a computer cuz mines relly slow.

first i wasnt sure if i shuold get a laptop, or a desktop.

second, should i get windows or the mac operating system.

and third if i do get a laptop which one shuld i get. i was thinking a macbook pro or watever the newest and best one is that isnt an air. or somthing like a sony vaio. ( which one)

im going into highschool so im not in university or college, and if i get a laptop i want like that aluminum materiel instead of plastic just like the macbook pro
so iv been looking and im debating between the macbook pro or the HP pavilion dv72100,

or if yuo choose desktop then tell me which one
