Apple MacBook Air

I want to buy a Macbook Air. I found a first generation refurbished. Here is the link. I need a three year warranty though, which I can probably purchase at the Apple store:

I was also thinking about just buying a new one but the price is $1,790 (with 3 year warranty and iLife 09 which I need both) but with the college/ school discount, it is $1,623.00
Since I need it for school I can also get an iTouch.

P.S. for the second link, add the iWork 2009 Preinstalled and add Applecare protection program. It equals being $1,623

Also, what is the difference between the first Macbook Air and the new Macbook air?
